FOUR OF THE FIVE PLOW THE WALKS · THE DRIVEWAY IS YOURS
Line up winter plowing in the Grosse Pointes before the first snow.
Your number goes to one contractor, not a list.
We connect you with an independent snow removal contractor who serves the Grosse Pointes; we don’t do the work ourselves.

We take snow calls for the five Grosse Pointes, nothing else.

Before it snows
Ask before you sign:
- What depth brings the plow?
- Is the walk in the price? The salt?
- Who clears the end of the drive after the city plow goes by?
- How many visits does the price cover, and what does one more cost?
- If the plow catches the lawn, the curb or the mailbox, who pays?
- Can I see proof of insurance?
- Do you hold this city’s license? (Woods, Shores)
Then ask: is all of this in the contract?
A season contract runs $200 to $600 across the country.
| One plowing of an average driveway (under 70 feet) | $30 – $50 |
|---|---|
| Per visit — plowing, blowing or shoveling | $30 – $70 |
| Per storm, up to 6 inches | $30 – $100 |
| Seasonal contract | $200 – $600 |
| Sidewalk shoveling, by the hour | $25 – $75 |
| Salt, per application | $20 – $65 |
| Roof raking, per visit | $200 – $500 |
National ranges from HomeGuide’s December 2024 chart. Not a Grosse Pointe price, and not ours.
When should I sign?
Before the first storm. At Detroit Metro Airport, the nearest station with a long record, most of the season’s 45 inches falls from December through February (the weather service’s normals).

Four of the five plow residential walks once enough falls. The driveway, and the storms below each city’s line, are yours. The rules: City · Park · Farms · Shores. Who plows: City · Park · Farms · Woods. These are each city’s own codes and pages; we aren’t any of them.
In the Woods and the Shores, a plow contractor needs a city license. Ask to see it. (Woods · Shores)
Does calling cost anything?
Not from us. Some contractors charge to look at the job, so ask first.
